KMUTNB extended it's Educational Obligations to the Rural Areas, leading to the creation
of the Prachinburi Campus in Prachinburi Province.

Technology in Bangkok.

KMUTNB upgraded some organizational units for educational expansion purpose:
1. The Vice President's Office was changed to "The President's Office"
2. The Department of Sciences in the Faculty of Technical Education and Science was changed to "The Faculty of Applied Science" and the Faculty of Technical Education and Science was changed to "The Faculty of Technical Education"
3. The Library Section in the Academic Service Division became "The Central Library."

- King Mongkut's Institute of Technology North Bangkok
- King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang
- King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Thonburi

The establishment of the College of Industrial Technology and Institute for Technical Education Developments

The Establishment of the Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Technical Education and
Science and also the Vice President's Office.

Three technical colleges, North Bangkok Technical College, Thonburi Technical College,
and Telecommunication College Nonthaburi were merged and given a new name DKing Mongkut's
Institute of Technology which had three campuses, North Bangkok, Thonburi, and Ladkrabang.

The School was upgraded to North Bangkok Technical College

KMUTNB, was established from the constructive cooperation between the Thai Government and the Federal Republic of Germany, it was initially known as the 5North Bangkok Technical School6 but generally called "Thai-German Technical School."
