Department of Welding Engineering Technology was a division of welding technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology. Later, it was established as the Department Project of Welding Engineering Technology in 2005 and was approved to be the Department of Welding Engineering Technology on January 11, 2006 to provide the Bachelor of Engineering in Welding Engineering Technology and the Bachelor of Industrial Technology in Welding Technology. The education model focuses on strengthening capacities in the welding process, welding technology, tools, welding testing and quality control along with the moral. The department had 4 undergraduate classes per year and 30 students per class with continuous improvement in teaching and learning.

       At present, the department has taught at the undergraduate level. Since 1994, the degree has been divided into the Bachelor of Engineering Program in Welding Engineering Technology in a regular session with 30 students, and the Bachelor of Industrial Technology in Welding Technology, which is usually divided into 3 sessions: regular, afternoon and special, one classroom with 30 students for each session.
