The Department of Applied Statistics aims to produce graduates with knowledge and skills in statistics, applied statistics, business statistics and insurance.  The graduates then have the necessary skills and knowledge to apply for jobs in a wide variety of areas, including finance, banking, insurance, industry and manufacturing.  They have skills in data analysis and the ability to apply statistical software to manage and analyze data. The Department of Applied Statistics has the resources in personnel, equipment, and tools required to develop the capabilities of students.
