The Department of Mathematics is responsible for undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Applied Mathematics and Mathematical Computing. It is also responsible for service teaching of mathematics in many other faculties and departments of the university. The lecturers in the department are a source of knowledge in applied mathematics and computational mathematics and conduct research in diverse fields including banking and finance and software development. The Department of Mathematics produces graduates who can apply and extend their knowledge further and be an important force in the development of science and technology according to the sentence "Department of Mathematics creates knowledge and innovates practical and applicable research”
