Department of Industrial engineering, Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok was found in the seventh national economic and social development plan. First admission of the bachelor’s degree, four-year plan, occurred in 1993. Direction of education management of the department is to prepare graduates to have the knowledge and competency both in theories and practice, have the ability to apply suitable theories to real world problems, do the research, use advanced computer technologies and machines to solve the problem in manufacturing, develop new technologies, and have an honesty in a career and ethical responsibility.
The department has many alumni in many industries and also has a good relationship with the industrial sector. As a result, the department has the opportunity to invite many speakers from industries to share their experiences and let the students visit their factories to study manufacturing system in many aspects. In an entire program, the students not only get the theories from lecturers in the university but also have an opportunity to have the experiences in industries. The department expects graduates to be ready for work according to industrial sector expectation.
