Professor Dr. Athakorn Kengpol received the First Award in Thailand in “Industry Solutions Award” from Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society USA (IEOM Society International USA) in Pioneering IE4.0 for Thailand Industry 4.0

According to KMUTNB received a grant from European Union (EU) is extremely difficult to be awarded due to a fierce quality competition internationally. In 2017, EU received 756 International Proposals, however KMUTNB with [Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thammasat University (TU), Chiengmai University (CMU), Khonkan University (KKU), Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and 3 European Allied Universities: University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (UPB), Romania , University of Minho (UMinho), Portugal, Częstochowa University of Technology (CUT), Poland] have succeeded to get a grant from EU title “Curriculum Development of Master’s Degree Program in Industrial Engineering for Thailand Sustainable Smart Industry -MSIE4.0”.

The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society USA (IEOM Society International USA) presented the “Industry Solutions Award” to Professor Dr. Athakorn Kengpol, KMUTNB in Recognition and Appreciation of Pioneering IE4.0 Research and Manufacturing Excellence in the National and International Level in the Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Profession. This is the first time in Thailand that this prestigious award is presented to a Thai Professor.

Professor Dr. Athakorn Kengpol, KMUTNB has extensive research in Artificial Intelligence: AI and cyber physical system in which these technologies shall be embedded in the curriculum and be transferred to the industry in Thailand.

Thanks to the The Industrial Engineering and Operations Management Society USA (IEOM Society International USA) and EU (Erasmus+ Programme Capacity-Building projects in the field of Higher Education: E+CBHE) to support the project to develop a Master Degree IE curriculum for 3 years in which Thai Universities and European Universities can directly earn a vital benefit in adopting this curriculum to teach students to be ready for Thailand Industry 4.0.
